  1. Appears Dr. Siegel is combining Jacobson relaxation exercises, abdominal breathing exercises and a smidgen of Erickson’s hypnotic techniques in his video. These procedures have been in use for the last 40 years of longer for the treatment of anxiety or other disorders. There are many narratives for implementing these strategies, of which Dr. Siegel’s is just one more. One hopes that Dr. Siegel gives credit to the pioneers
    in the development and use of these procedures..
