  1. I have attended three DBT trainings. I currently run a DBT informed group with up to 11 individuals. The skills are practical. I would like more training on how to introduce mindfulness and a variety of techniques for mindfulness application. I find many clients feel that applying mindfulness is challenging and they don’t always want to do it.

  2. 1. For the past several years, I have been practicing DBT-informed therapy and run a DBT skills group in a community mental health setting. I’ve read several books and studies on DBT and much of my graduate work was on DBT and BPD. I attended a 2-day DBT training as well as a 1 day training. I currently mostly work from The Expanded Dialectical Behavior Therapy Workbook by Dr. Lane Pederson.
    2. I would actually like learn the logistics of running a successful DBT program in both community mental health and private practice.

  3. I’ve taken two DBT trainings (one four day and one two day) and read a few books. I would like to learn more to be able to practice DBT with fidelity.

  4. I tried doing a skills group with a colleague. We lost too much time/money because insurance companies would only pay $20 per session. I’m in a private practice, and we only had 5 or 6 clients in the group, and they didn’t all always come. Group was 90 min, prep 30 min, discussion with colleague afterwards and progress notes, at least 30 min. It seems this would work best in large clinics where there would be enough group members to make it worthwhile.

Q 2) How to utilize DBT with various levels of cognitive function and or
The continuum of individuals with severe chronic mental illness on the psychotic continuum if DBT is relevant to that population.
